Hong Kong, a place of fabulous street photography scenes, has to be experienced, if you so inclined towards street stuff. Its not really my thing, but i went there to have a go in one of my photography trips abroad, when i lived in South korea.  As an ex-british colony, it has all the weirdness of a british city, mixed with its nearest influence......... the chinese. One day i will go back and i will spend every day for a week, all day, walking the streets, eating the fabulous food and shooting what ever scenes i saw. On this staircase, i just loved the way the light came flooding down from above.
Hong Kong has a huge differance between poor and rich and as this was a poorer area, the new mercedes, just looked out of place and as a black and white image, i felt it gives it a more.....eh reportage type of look. There is so much money in HK, that it is beyond belief to see people flaunting their wealth in the midst of such poverty.
Advertisements are high on the list of things to photograph there and you can see on many empty shop front, these amounts of signs from the same company.
Now one of the reasons i went to HK was to experience the food and as i was with a korean food fan, i was dragged from one cafe or restaurant to another in search of food shouted about on some korean food blog.  Some i qued to get into, some we walked into, but in general, the food was just fabulous.
There is a Buddhist famous temple at Lantao island in Hong Kong and to reach it, you need to take the cable car on Hong kong island. This is a spectacular cable car ride and takes you to this temple high on the peak. Below you can see the sights you will see once you arrive.
there are buddists statues galore
the cows seem to have freedom to roam and can often be seen scattering crowds as the wonder down to ther fountains for a drink.
The colour of the temples are just spectacular
the insides of these temples are just as fabulous
Monks still practice and pray every day, though quite how they find the calm, with dozens of tourists snapping away with their cameras.
At each prayer station, you can buy incence and burn for those you have lost and to offer them a prayer. Some of these incence sticks just happen to be about 6ft high. This creates such a fabulous smell all over the island
You can spot a korean couple from a long way off perhaps, as they love wearing the same clothes to show their love, though some just look plain daft.
i believe it wishes you good luck in chinese?
